IT’S YOUR FUNERAL, The Movie

It’s 1986 in Waukegan, Illinois. 42-year-old ad guy Wally Brunner, with almost 20 years of creative under his belt, is told in slightly less than three minutes:
His dad just died.
He’s inherited the family’s failing funeral home in Elgin, Illinois.
He’s been canned.

With extremely limited options, Wally moves his family, wife Marci, the former Butter Cup Bra girl (39), son Barry (14), and daughter Brie (12), to his home town to try and save the family business. By applying his marketing skills, he achieves minor success only to be thwarted by reality and his mortician, Winston Sapp, who had planned to buy the parlor for a song. Hating Wally’s highly unusual marketing schemes Winston quits, leaving Wally with “customers” that can’t wait and his plans doomed.

But a cup of coffee and the extraordinary talents of hearse driver Dirk ( Viet Nam F-4 fighter pilot , PhD MIT, ex-seminarian), mortuary science is completely upended. As the dangerously optimistic Wally proclaims, “We’re going to change this dying business forever!”
